And Whereas
since Memorial Day 2002, to the present, Memorial Day 2003, we have remembered
our comrades who have given their whole measure in defense of our nation and
the free peoples of the world by keeping a flame in their name.
And Whereas, We
recognize these great sacrifices to be given as individuals to a single great
nation under God; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that The
American Legion JE Lanier Post No. 27, Richmond Hill, Ga. does mourn the passing
of these, our comrades-in-arms. That we commend to all the works, and to
God the spirit; and be it further
Resolved, That in token of our common grief,
having transferred these souls to Gods sweet embrace, and to all of our brethren
who have gone before to Post Everlasting, The American Legion, and having
forever preserved in our hearts and the records of
The American Legion JE Lanier, Post 27 by
resolution; and be it further
Resolved, that hence, The American Legion JE
Lanier Post 27 shall annually light a ‘Remembrance Candle’ on Memorial Day and
it shall be lit from the lights of the many and displayed at each meeting or
function of said Post in their honor. Throughout the year and each year hence
So say each of us, So say we all.
John H Ellis Sr,
Adjutant
William B Helms Jr, Commander
